Jilin Zhang

New music composer




Jilin Zhang (b. 2005) is a new music composer of large instrumental ensemble works, as well as chamber works and electronic and electroacoustic works, and music for media. His compositional interests include evocative, rich harmony and complex rhythmic and metric patterns. His influences include modern wind band repertoire, many sub-genres of jazz, and electronic music, and his music reflects and uniquely fuses each of these differing styles of music. He is currently studying at the University of North Texas (BM, 2027), and his teachers include Jonathan Cziner and Sungji Hong.
